Constantly choosing ethical fashion choices - like fair trade and organic or locally made or vintage or shwopping - well, sometimes it seems inconsequential, a too small an effort in too large a problem. But then I see, or read, or watch something that really steels me. And this did that.

Thank you for the music
There are obituaries and big-ups to Steve Jobs everywhere I know, but I am going to add to them. What can I say? The guy was inspirational. And if you haven't watched his 2005 Stanford address already, you need to so here it is. Its pretty awesome. Humans are so cool when they get as… Continue reading Thank you for the music
Wearing nothing new
I love this woman's panache and her philosophy is bang on point too. Her style, for me anyway, is slightly too bonkers, but my gosh she knows how to work it.
Just keep knitting!
I ain't a knitter. How someone can use two sticks and some yarn to cobble together a garment simply astounds me and I stand back in awe. The other thing that astounds me about knitting? How jolly addictive it appears to be. Numerous friends have a new appendage on weekends away and thats their knitting… Continue reading Just keep knitting!
Unexpectedly the 6-items-or-less challenge continues – Chrissy

300 years of addiction in five tasty minutes

Digging into the depths of my closet trying to figure out what I could wear for a whole month, I began to notice something... I don't know how I've never noticed this before... first I noticed a couple of jackets that were pretty similar,… Continue reading Wardrobe confessions
Week One : Chrissy’s Six Items or less Challenge
As Inga mentioned in a previous blog, we have both decided to undertake the six items or less challenge - which means wearing nothing but the same 6 items for one month, not including underwear, shoes or jackets. Why this madness? I feel strangely compelled to give it a go. At times I feel slightly claustrophobic… Continue reading Week One : Chrissy’s Six Items or less Challenge
Week One : Inga’s Six Items or less Challenge
OK so its the end of the first week of the Six Items or Less Challenge that Chrissy and I are embarking on for one month. And I'm very proud to announce that we have survived the first 7 days of wearing the same six garments! If you haven't heard, Six Items or Less is a "Global… Continue reading Week One : Inga’s Six Items or less Challenge
It’s time to SPRING into action!
There is a lot happening for The Big Shwop this month: we've started planning our next event (watch this space!), we're doing lots of development on the business, and during a break between jobs I am using the change of season to get cracking and take some personal challenges in the name of responsible shopping.… Continue reading It’s time to SPRING into action!
